The Android TV Hulu app has just lately been updated with a major redesign and now the platform is hit by another update. The latest Android TV Hulu app provides better assistance for some remotes as well as a redesigned home screen icon.
This latest update adds some darker elements to the interface, in line with other platforms. This does not apply to the app as a whole, but you may have noticed that a pure black with green letters was replaced by the home screen icon with the light green with white letters.
It makes sense on other platforms, but if you ask me, this new icon feels a little out of place on Android TV. Hopefully, a future update will shed some light on the background so the icon stands out against the dark home screen of Android TV.
In addition, for his app, Hulu also darkened the splash screen. Mostly the look is the same, but the colors are not as bright as they should be particularly appreciated at night.
You may not have known that the new Hulu app for Android TV would break some remotes when it was launched. Specifically, for many third-party remotes, the “Ok” feature was broken, including the alternatives that we earlier suggested for Shield TV. That problem should be solved with this recent update. Follows the complete change log.
