With reports that T-Mobile is going to be the only carrier to release the upcoming OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren in the US, it’s a shame to hear that the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is left behind as Android 10 is not expected to reach the market before Q1 2020.
Given that since September 2019, the 4G-only OnePlus 7 Pro has had the full update, this is not exactly welcome news for those with the 5G version. OnePlus reported a potential release timeline for Q1 2020 on a complaint post due to the lack of Android 10 on the official OnePlus forums (via XDA-Developers).
Global Community Manager David Y also said that in Q1 2020, Android 10 is planned to reach the EE version of the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. That’s great news for those of you with the handset in the UK, but it’s really unclear whether that includes Sprint in the US — or what it means for the rest of the world.
The biggest downside is that for the upgrade, this is also still a’ window’ From the beginning of the year to the end of March, it could be anywhere. Considering the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G higher entry cost, it’s really disappointing that Android 10’s level of support and wait is far below that of non – 5G models.
While the full Android 10 OTA brings a ton of changes, the wait has been so long still seems odd.
