Hybrid smartwatches typically have great designs and battery life, but smart interfaces and features and interfaces. Fossil announces today a smartwatch that bridges the gap better than any we’ve ever seen. The Fossil Hybrid HR has a battery life of 2 weeks, an e-ink display, and even Google Fit syncs.
The Fossil Hybrid HR is the first company to include this e-ink display technology, available starting today from $195. Many companies like Pebble (RIP) used this kind of technology in the past, and like those devices, it allows Fossil’s watch to save power while leaving more room for notifications, activity tracking, and more.
Unlike the company’s smartwatches for Wear OS, the Hybrid HR manages to include these features with a single charge battery lasting a whopping 2 weeks. The platform itself is being developed internally, though, so we don’t expect any third-party apps anytime soon as you’d find it on Wear OS. However, what’s encouraging is that the Fossil Hybrid HR can still sync with Google Fit, a huge win for Android users.
The Fossil Hybrid HR is available in several styles today starting at $195.
