Hulu has now introduced full Chromecast voice control support and any Google Smart Displays you may have, including the Max Nest Hub and Nest Hub.
This means you can access all of your favorite Hulu shows and content in and around your home (via Android Police) on your Google Assistant connected devices. Hulu has now joined the ranks of streaming services that can connect to your Google Home account and, if you choose, use voice controls.
Nevertheless, Associated Press (AP) notes that while there is support, the ability to link your Hulu account to your Google Home account is not yet available— and I am not able to check that it is located in the UK. Nonetheless, a Google spokesperson has been able to confirm to AP that this will be available in the coming days.
Hulu subscribers can now ask their Google Assistant to play thousands of hit TV shows and movies from their basic subscription catalog on their Chromecasts, Chromecast built-in devices, and smart displays like Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max. Just say, ‘Hey Google, watch (pick your favorite show) on Hulu’ and instantly start watching.
Through opening the Google Home app on your smartphone or tablet and moving to Settings > TV & Video > Link you can test whether Hulu support is available on your own Chromecast and Nest Hub or Smart Displays. Click the logo and you can sign in and link your Hulu account to allow you to use voice controls to watch your favorite Hulu content on all of your Google Home-connected devices.
A deeper integration is highly likely to come to the Google Home app in the coming days. Whether it’s through an app update or just a server-side switch from Google is unclear, but if you’re an ardent Hulu user, it’s worth checking back.
