The huge variety of hardware available is one of the few benefits of Wear OS. Diesel announces a new Wear OS watch with the Diesel Fadelite today at CES 2020, and it has one of the most unique designs we’ve seen to date.
Diesel, a part of the Fossil Group, is no stranger to Wear OS. Two watches, including the Full Guard and Axial, have been released so far. Diesel went for a more industrial aesthetic with those watches, but the Fadelite takes a different approach.
As one thing, the Diesel Fadelite is smaller than the other smartwatches from the brand with a case size of 43 mm. It also has something on watches in general you don’t often see — a transparent wristband. Not all straps are completely transparent, but they are more translucent in areas with gradient colors including red to black, blue to clear, black to clear, and one that is completely clear.
The watch’s own body is partially translucent with a large crown and lugs expanding to connect the band. Since the case is made of hardshell nylon, compared to metals, it is also very lightweight. Under the hood, with a Snapdragon Wear 3100, 512 MB of RAM, and NFC support, it is also the same Wear OS kit as usual.
