Android 11 will dramatically revamp the Pixel Power menu with “Device Controls” smart home. In the last few days, the functionality has leak again, and you can now enable it with the new version of the Google Home app on Android 11 DP4.
Power controls for Emergency, Power off, Restart and Lockdown / Screenshot are moved up to the top to make way for a fullscreen menu. There’s no way to reveal more than 4 acts at the moment.
Below is the Google Home logo and a smart home device grid connected to it. In the case of lights, the on / off status is noted with a bulb icon accompanied by the name you have given and the room in which it resides. These tiles are gray when disabled, and yellow when the fill corresponds to the current percentage is active. A simple tab is on / off, while you can also drag to adjust the brightness.
A top overflow button allows you to “choose controls to access from the Power button menu.” At the bottom of the screen there is a link to “See other apps.” Home devices are displayed by show / hide groups and star-starred rooms. Within the Home app most types of accessories should appear in this new menu.
In addition to the smart home controls, “Cards & Passes” will appear just below the device options row. There will be a new “Power Menu” to control the experience, according to yesterday’s early rollout of Android 11 Beta 1 for some Pixel users. One of those options will allow you to show on the lockscreen these clever “Device Controls.”
That’s not possible on Developer Preview 4 today, but from the Settings > System > Manage menu, you can show / hide Google Pay stored payment methods.
