Mobvoi ‘s TicPods series has delivered to Android users a handful of solid, truly wireless earbud offerings, and a new option is right around the corner. Mobvoi is currently teasing its “Earbuds Gesture” ahead of launch and it promises battery life of 50 hour.
Mobvoi is teasing the arrival of “Earbuds Gesture” in a promotional email that goes out to fans. Apparently the new pair of truly wireless earbuds are set to go live on Indiegogo in the coming days, but the early listing confirms some key features.
Perhaps most interestingly, on these earbuds, Mobvoi guarantees 50 hours of battery life, a figure that any competitor would jealously take. Mobvoi is genuinely moving the battery life forward where most sell 20-30 hours at most.
How does this work out? For one thing the case has inside a 500mAh battery. It is a little larger than the average, but here too, part of the key is in the buds themselves. They’ll apparently offer 10 hours of playback on a single charge. That rivals even the Galaxy Buds+ from Samsung, which has set the standard for battery life for TWE.
The style here is nothing innovative but it looks like the company’s best of both worlds. The original design of TicPods had silicone tips, but was physically immense in your face. The sequel, TicPods 2, drop those tips and managed an impressively small design. The small design remains with Mobvoi Earbuds Gesture but with silicone tips also available.
The TicMotion gestures from TicPods 2 are also available for their namesake here with head gestures to accept or deny a phone call.
Mobvoi hasn’t disclosed a price yet, but when that information is available we will update this article.
