Stadia is announcing two more games coming to players next year, including Young Souls, a First on Stadia exclusive, rounding out three days of “Good Stuff” announcements.
Google has been slowly announcing new games for Stadia side-by – side every day since Tuesday with new week-long previews for upcoming games such as Ubisoft’s Immortals: Fenyx Rising.
One of the simpler goals of this Good Stuff event was to introduce games from genres that were previously unrepresented in the library of Stadia, such as the 4X strategy game, Humanity thinks like Civilization. With Phoenix Point, an X-COM style, alien-fighting, battle strategy game coming in Q1 2021, the trend is continuing today. Borrowing from the X-COM heritage of the game, Phoenix Point comes from Snapshot Games, led by Julian Gollop, creator of X-COM.
Next up, we have Young Souls, a co-op oriented, but not needed, 1P2P Studio and The Arcade Crew game that seeks to combine genres with RPG elements, beat-em-up games, and more, while retaining a strong narrative focus. Young Souls, first revealed in 2018, is now an exclusive First on Stadia timed game, scheduled to be released next year at some point.
Young Souls and Phoenix Point are joining a host of other new Stadia game announcements, including Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and ARK: Evolved Survival.
