The CZ Smart, an iconic Japanese export, could prove a tough sale for ardent Wear OS fans due to a number of factors, “ the best challenge being the price. First let’s talk about the positive bits quickly before delving into the internal ones and pricing, though.
It comes in three different styles that retain the classic look and form that have made Citizen watches one of the world’s most prominent watches. That means, with an anodized aluminum top ring, a relatively wide 46mm steel case. At a solid 416 by 416 resolution, the CZ Smart has a 1.28-inch AMOLED Gorilla Glass 3 display.
For menu activation and settings adjustments, there is room for a side-casing button, rotating bezel, and push buttons. There is also a speaker on the left side, with the CZ Smart also having a voice command microphone for Google Assistant and making calls.
Now as the Citizen CZ Smart is set to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset, the internals on this “luxury” watch might make you wince a little bit, but no word on the amount of RAM. Onboard storage is also 8GB, which is likely to be more than enough for what you would need on a daily basis.
Pre-orders with a $395 asking price have opened for the Citizen CZ Smart. However, given the spec sheet, unless you absolutely have to have a Citizen-branded smartwatch, it seems like a tough request. With a bracelet strap or silicone strap option, you can get the CZ Smart in three models.
