The Snapdragon 480, the first system-on-chip in the 4-series with 5G support, was launched by Qualcomm. Qualcomm is taking a significant move today to allow widespread 5G adoption. The Snapdragon X51 5G Modem-RF Device is support by Snapdragon 480 to support mmWave and Sub-6 GHz 5G. The Snapdragon X51 allows for near-instant uploads and downloads of multi-gigabit 5G connections and supports multiple frequencies for flexibility and accessibility. With Qualcomm FastConnect 6200, Snapdragon 480 also offers 2×2 Wi-Fi (dual Wi-Fi antennas) with a collection of Wi-Fi 6 main features, such as 8×8 multi-user MIMO sound, for major improvements in range and performance.
Also, Bluetooth 5.1 and advanced wireless audio capabilities and dual-frequency GPS and NavIC support for precise positioning of the location.
Snapdragon 480 Performance and Battery Life
Snapdragon 480 enables users of devices to remain more productive and recharge faster. Compared to the previous version, the Qualcomm Kryo 460 CPU with up to 2.0 GHz, Qualcomm Adreno 619 GPU, and Qualcomm Hexagon 686 Processor provide up to 100% performance improvement in CPU and GPU performance and up to 70% improvement in AI performance. Qualcomm Fast Charge 4+ technology, the first in a 4-series, is also supported by Snapdragon 480.
