With the release of the Motorola One 5G Ace starting at $399, Motorola is stepping up its affordable 5G device cadence. As Motorola refreshed its Moto G Power, Play, and Stylus, the 5G Ace was released. With rates starting price at $169 and $399 topping out.
You get some benefits, such as a massive battery, a halfway decent rear camera setup, and classic mid-range staples including a microSD card slot and a headphone jack, instead of getting semi-reliable Android upgrades. However, most importantly, you’re getting a low price. You can see the specs of the Motorola One 5G Ace.
The strangely named $400 Motorola One 5G Ace (above), thanks in large part to the chipset it uses, is the most interesting by far. One of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 750Gs with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage is inside the fairly chunky body of the phone, which is enough to make the One 5G Ace by far the most powerful new device in Motorola’s lineup. Wallet-friendly 5G is the key draw here, as you would expect, and this phone continues a trend that started with the Moto One 5G sub-$500 last year. Just know there is one connectivity caveat worth bearing in mind: while mmWave 5G is supported by this specific chipset, the Ace only plays nice with sub-6 5G networks.
The same large 5,000mAh battery, 6.7-inch Full HD (2400 x 1080) 20:9 ratio display, 16MP selfie camera, and triple-rear camera headed by a 48MP main shooter with an ultra-wide 8MP and 2MP macro cameras all return. There’s plenty that’s remained the same since the last Motorola One 5G device.
On January 14, for $399, the One 5G Ace is available unlocked. At places like Best Buy, Amazon, Motorola, and B&H Photo, you’ll find it. Carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Google Fi will pick it up at some point in future, too.
