Asus‘ new gaming flagship ROG Phone 5 5G edges closer to announcement as the phone moves through China’s TENAA, leaks showing some key specifications and a few incoming phone photos. The upcoming gaming phone has now been spotted on the certification platforms MIIT and TENAA in China.
Two photos are included in the TENAA listing of the handset, which show a design that appears largely identical to the ROG Phone 3 last year. The Snapdragon 888 chipset will power the ROG Phone 5 (tentative name) with model number I005DA and will come with a 6,000 mAh battery. This battery consists of two 3,000 mAh batteries, indicating some super-fast charging speeds, maybe for a 65W charger that was also mentioned in the 3C certification of the phone.
The phone won’t have a bezel-less design, despite official teasers suggesting otherwise. While the top and bottom bezels tend to be slightly slimmer, they are still very thick. We can see a triple-camera setup and a secondary dot-matrix display for Aura Lighting on the back of the phone.
The triple cameras will consist of a main 64MP camera and a secondary small display will appear on the back of the handset. We saw this show in action in a previously leaked video, demonstrating a preview of the form of incoming notification on the phone.
A 6.78-inch AMOLED screen fitted with an in-display fingerprint scanner will be used on the handset. There’s no word about whether the screen will use FHD+ or QHD+ resolution, but a 144Hz refresh rate is required to be used by phone.
Asus rog phone 5 release date sometime towards the end of March to mid-April, a teaser poster for the new phone suggested the phone would be revealed.
