Suspected images of a OnePlus 9 Pro prototype leaks on the camera mound over the weekend bearing the Hasselblad branding. If the video embedded below is to be believed, OnePlus could be partnering up with Hasselblad. Photos showing an alleged OnePlus 9 Pro prototype have now been leaked courtesy of YouTuber Dave2D, showing a Hasselblad branding quad-camera setup.
Hasselblad is a Swedish camera company known for its medium format cameras and lenses, for those who don’t know. It doesn’t market its tech for cheap, so coming with camera smarts from the brand for the OnePlus 9 Pro means it might be a pricey affair.
You can see the device itself from multiple angles in the shown images, along with some of its UI. Of course, these are real-life images. The Hasselblad branding on the back, arguably, is the most important part of it.
A regular lens, a wide-angle lens, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a telephoto lens with at least 3x zoom will be included in the OnePlus 9 Pro’s quad-camera array, as per Dave2D. While the latest leak does not disclose the megapixel count of the main sensor of the phone, previous leaks have claimed that the main sensor would feature a 48MP phone.
Since we currently know very little about the camera system on the OnePlus 9 Pro, it remains to be seen if the partnership of OnePlus with Hasselblad can translate into a massive improvement in camera performance. However, it now looks pretty likely that a superzoom camera would miss out on the OnePlus 9 series.
On the right, above the power / lock button, the alert slider will stay. At the bottom, along with a Type-C USB port, and the main speaker, the SIM card slot will sit.
An OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and the Snapdragon 888 SoC will be available on the phone. We may expect a 6.7-inch display, along with up to 12 GB of RAM, indicated by previous rumors. The phone will also be certified for IP68, allegedly. Along with the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9E aka 9 Lite, the OnePlus 9 Pro is expected to release date in March.
