The OnePlus Concept One may never come onto the market, but it is a hint to some potential new tech headed for future OnePlus smartphones. Since then the company has shared some more details alongside some stunning early all-black prototypes of the OnePlus Concept One during development — yes, a concept prototype.
Kevin Tao of the OnePlus Concept One Industrial Design team, in an interview with the brains behind the device explained some of the design decisions that led to the Concept One — a product we were able to get some hands-on time with at CES in Las Vegas.
Tao revealed that OnePlus is looking to use their concept phone’s leather backplate cover design and apply it to a future flagship. He said that using “environmentally friendly” materials will be used for future use of leather on any upcoming device.
The OnePlus Concept One’s headline-grabbing all-black (or blackout) concept models just scream “stealth,” and if we ever see a similarly designed OnePlus smartphone, we’re sure it’s going to be a massive success. Of course, like the original Papaya Orange OnePlus Concept One, this all-black model is sadly never going to go on sale.
