Samsung is preparing to launch its second foldable smartphone next month, and more leaks are coming out for the device if you can believe it. Courtesy of Max Weinbach, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip has more details including some tidbits about its display.
In a short Twitter thread, Weinbach details the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip with some of the most interesting pieces of information.
As for the front display of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, it will apparently be even smaller than expected. Max’s source claimed the display was a mere 0.1 inches, but he’s not convinced that this is the case, thinking it could be a 1.0 inch typo.
In either case, the outer display will apparently be used to check information about the battery, as well as a viewfinder to use the “rear” selfies cameras. It also appears as pictured above that the time will be a key function, and I would assume notifications too.
Max also reveals several other key points about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip beyond the show. The unit can apparently support up to 15W charging in both directions with support for wireless charging. The Galaxy Z Flip is expected to have a small battery, though, so it may not be very useful to reverse wireless charging.
Samsung apparently also opted, like the Samsung Galaxy Fold, for a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on this device. I am not a fan of the ultrasonic under-display sensor used in other Samsung flagships, so the laterally mounted capacitive sensor is a big plus in my book. I praised the Samsung Galaxy S10e for this issue.
