With a physical Google I/O event postponed, we’re not sure when Google plans to launch the Pixel 4a smartphone. Today, though, a fresh leak from the notorious Evan Blass shows off a Pixel 4a billboard design that— if it’s genuine — confirms the design the price, and will have the “new” Google Assistant.
Obviously, these shots of billboard design are not actual images but rather photoshopped onto a real-life photograph to show how the design will look in real life. Bearing in mind Blass ‘ track record, though, we have little reason to believe that they are anything but real. Google is far from shy about billboard advertising, too.
So what can we know from that latest leak of Pixel 4a? For one thing, that’s our best look at Google’s forthcoming mid-ranger design to date. The punch-hole display the square camera bump and even the device’s colors are all on show here. Notably, the colors also match closely with a previous leak which also stated that there was a blue model in the works.
Most notably, this new Pixel 4a leak basically confirms the device’s price tag of $399. Which means Google isn’t raising prices this year, despite a significant spec boost. This is amazing!
Also interesting here is that Google is aggressively pushing advertising maps, assistant, and videos, and there is also a frame that confirms that the standard Pixel 4’s “new” Google Assistant will also be debuting on the 4a. That is unexpected, but very good.
